Founded by Owner and Naples veteran Executive Chef Jeff Mitchell, a classically trained chef and wine expert with 20 years of experience in the culinary and hospitality industry, The Local was inspired by Florida’s abundant local bounty and long growing season.

Chef Jeff works closely with local ranchers, farmers, sea mongers, and artisans to source products with integrity, flavor and soul. With this profound commitment to local ingredients, the team changes the menu daily based on the day’s delivery. Grass fed beefs, meats from sustainable farmers, local seafood, and the freshest local produce in Naples and Southwest Florida appeal to carnivores and pescatores as well as healthy diners including, gluten-free, vegans and vegetarians.

Maintaining his passion for nutrient rich foods, Chef Jeff and his team make many food items in-house. Ricotta cheese, bacon, cured meats, ice cream, hot sauces, sourdough for pizzas, crème fraiche, fruit pie, pickles, jams, sauces, soups, dressings, and even garnishes are all made at The Local’s scratch kitchen. The team also brines and smoke turkey breasts for sandwiches, bacon and beef-brisket in house.

The Local complements its food items with a superb selection of beer, wine and “cocktails.” Bar Manager, Casey Gordon, features artisanal Kombucha on tap; a selection of rotating seasonal local draft beers from breweries such as the Naples Beach Brewery,, Copper Tail brewing company in Tampa and Bury Me Brewery in Ft Meyers; familiar wines from the United States, Chile, France, Italy, Australia and New Zealand; and “cocktails” made with liquor flavored wines. Some of the wines emulate flavors like Baileys, Kahlua, Vodka, Rum, Triple Sec and Tequila, which are used to make signature “Cocktails” including The Local Bellini, Pom Lemon Drop, Margarita Angelita, Lychee-tini, and the White Cosmo.
